Weekend Getaway: From the Enchanted Forest to an Adrenaline Rush!

We needed a break! So, we escaped for a weekend to a magical place just three hours from the city – a paradise of forest and adventure!

Every morning, a champion’s breakfast: fresh, local products, straight from the town and at bargain prices to start the day with energy! And for lunch and dinner, the market was the place to be! From street tacos to gourmet stuffed chiles on a terrace with postcard views: reddish rooftops, imposing mountains, and the lake with its little houses and smoking chimneys. A feast for the palate and the eyes!

The first day, exploring the town on foot! Cobblestone streets, artisans with magic hands, fruit ice cream that transports you to paradise, and snacks that make your mouth water. In the afternoon, lakeside adventure! A boat ride under the moonlight, with the town lit up like a Christmas tree. Romantic and spectacular! And to end the day, a family chat with sweet bread and hot coffee. So delicious!

The second day, heading to Avándaro in search of thrills! The road, a spectacle of lush nature. And the Velo de Novia (Bride’s Veil) waterfall… breathtaking! A 35-meter cascade that refreshes your soul (and gets you a little wet, but it’s worth it!). On the way back to Valle de Bravo, we went on an off-road adventure in the Monte Alto reserve! The road… a challenge for our car! Rocks, dirt, and 4x4s leaving us eating dust! But the view from the top… simply epic! Paragliders soaring through the sky and mountain bikers speeding down. Pure adrenaline!

The third day, spiritual connection! We visited the Gran Stupa Bon, a Buddhist monument in the middle of the forest. Pure peace and tranquility! And after, the Carmel Maranatha Retreat Center, a place full of art and symbolism. A haven of peace! To end on a high note, we tried to find the Mirador la Peña viewpoint… and ended up on a mini-expedition along a steep path! A bit risky, but the view from the summit… wow, speechless!

We said goodbye to this magical place with our batteries recharged and our hearts happy. Definitely a weekend to remember!
